Townsville is about to start its season of major events, as visitors flock to the region for our perfect winter weather and a host of major draw cards.
The major attraction is set to be the 10th anniversary of the Watpac Townsville 400 V8, starting today and running across the weekend. Each year, this event injects around $30 million into the local economy, as revheads from around Australia flock to the city for this key event on the V8 calendar.
During the winter months, Townsville is also set to play host to the Townsville Show, NQ Winter Racing Carnival, Australian Festival of Chamber Music, Townsville Cultural Festival and the Townsville Triathlon Festival, in addition to a host of other events and school holidays activities.
